How it starts

A written description of the problem, a written diagnostic, then a scoped proposal with fixed deliverables. No discovery calls.

Ref. 03The Basics

An answer, a task, or an ongoing responsibility?

Start with the work you need done. The tool comes second.

01 / Ask

Get an answer

Ask a question, explore an idea, or improve a draft. You direct each next step.

02 / Delegate

Get a finished task

Give an agent a defined result, such as a report built from several files. It works through the steps and returns something to review.

03 / Assign

Keep a process moving

Give an ongoing assistant a responsibility, a schedule or supported trigger, and clear limits. It follows up and brings you exceptions.

Ref. 04The Assistants

Meet the assistants that keep working.

dots and Grok Bot bring ongoing work into focus. The practical starting point is one clear responsibility with information it can access and an owner who checks the result.

Approved sources in. Steps worked through. A result and its exceptions back to the owner.

The same motion the Agent Leverage Audit uses while it scores.

ChatGPT dots

An ongoing assistant that keeps context, works across connected tools, and brings back results or decisions that need you. Its cloud work can continue while your computer is off.

Example assignment: prepare a weekly cash brief from approved reports and flag missing inputs.

Gradual rollout to eligible accounts. Connected apps and local-computer work have separate access requirements.

Grok Bot

Named AI teammates that carry out work across apps and websites on a persistent cloud computer. Skills and routines help repeat a process once it has been checked.

Example assignment: assemble a follow-up queue and leave customer messages ready for review.

Plan and connection requirements apply. Bots within one account share a computer and its app logins.

Grok & Grok Bot

Research and knowledge work, coding and app creation, plus ongoing assignments through Grok Bot. Useful tasks extend beyond X and current-event research.

Grok chat, Build, the API, and Bot are different products with different access and usage terms. Grok Bot is included with paid individual Cursor plans and Cursor Teams, and its Bots run in Cursor’s cloud.

Official source
Cursor

A coding agent for software work. Cloud Agents run in their own cloud environments, start from the desktop app, cursor.com/agents, iOS, Slack, GitHub, Bitbucket, Linear, or an API, and return merge-ready pull requests with logs and screenshots. Projects (beta) let a coordinator agent plan larger work and delegate it to other agents, on a schedule or watching a Slack channel.

Cursor has been part of SpaceX since August 2026, alongside Grok and Grok Bot: one account can hand software work to Cursor and operational work to a Bot. Cloud Agents need Premium or higher, Teams, or Enterprise; usage is shared with Grok and refreshes weekly.

Perplexity

Source-backed research, browser work with Comet, and multi-step research, analysis, creation, and coding with Computer.

Select the product for the task, then verify its sources, connections, and usage limits.

Ref. 07What We Add

What we put around the agent.

The useful work starts before choosing a model. We map the current process, review the subscriptions and data already available, and identify a small assignment with a result someone can verify.

A pilot should leave your team with a working process and a short operating guide. Agree on what the agent may read, prepare, and change. Decide who handles exceptions, how to pause recurring work, and how to recover if a source or connection fails.

  • A written assignment: inputs, output, timing, owner, and completion criteria.
  • A tested connection to approved information, with missing and outdated inputs visible.
  • A reusable set of instructions, a confirmed schedule where needed, and a place to review results.
  • A pilot scorecard: accepted results, review time, errors, and total operating cost.
